Tuesday Crime Report
*from reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s and Lawrenceburg Police Departments
Automobile burglary
A resident of Glenn Springs Road reported to police officers that someone had burglarized his 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier overnight Saturday while he was at a home on Kathleen Avenue. The culprit took from the trunk two shotguns with a combined value of $200. He told officers he had heard a noise around 3:00 a.m., but failed to check outside.
Harassment
A thirty-four year old Lawrenceburg woman told deputies Sunday that she was being harassed via Facebook. She said that a female acquaintance had been posting “graphic and explicit” things about her, sexual in nature, on her Facebook page. Deputies took a report and advised the victim to report the matter to Facebook and block access from the defender. Investigation in the matter is continuing.
Burglary
Authorities are looking into allegations that a former resident of a Busby Lane property has been going through the current tenant’s mail as well as taking items from the property. The current tenant, age 69, told deputies Monday that the man had been there that afternoon, going through the mail in her mailbox. When confronted he told the woman he was “getting his mail” and to “mind her own business.” She said that the man drove across the lawn to an outbuilding, went inside, took two African flowers, and left. The property owner told deputies that a porch swing had also been stolen from the property. Losses total around $300.
Aggravated burglary
A Summertown property owner reported to deputies on Monday that items belonging to his former tenant had been stolen. The victim reported she still had many belongings inside the Brace Road home. The owner had discovered the hasp lock had been pried from the back door. Taken were four cast iron skillets, ten pairs of scissors, drill bits, an old lever action BB gun, and an old metal milk can. The victim said that the culprit had pulled her clothes dryer down the hallway to the back door, then left it there. She estimated her loss to be $480.
